Heat Wave Havoc also adds a fun twist by rewarding objective play with buffs, so suddenly doing the smart thing can make you stronger in a fight. That changes the pace right away. Freeze Tag feels even more unpredictable. Getting frozen instead of eliminated means every fight can flip if your squad reacts quickly. It's silly, sure, but these are usually the modes people remember because they create those weird match stories you end up telling later.

Zombies fans are getting Totenreich, a round-based map set in a Norwegian fishing village with a proper horror vibe. That setting alone sounds good, but the real draw is the enemy design. A frost giant boss is hard to ignore, and the Necropincer enemy, armed with a trident, feels like the sort of threat that'll force players to rethink spacing. The new Jotunn Star Wonder Weapon should help there, especially if you like melee weapons that can control crowds instead of just deleting one target. On the PvE side, Operation Broken Mirror kicks off Act II in Endgame and starts players at Zone III difficulty, so it's clearly aimed at people who've already been putting time in. The Mega Abomination in Nightmare Zones sounds brutal, but a guaranteed Exotic Weapon Case makes that risk worth taking.
